Chandigarh: All parts of the community are influenced by power outages in the state and the Chair of the Minister of Amarinder Singh, who holds a power portfolio, must be fully responsible, AAP said on Friday.
The President of the State AAP Bhagwant Mann on Friday said because of illness in electricity, farmers involved in rice transplants could not use tubewells.
“This is because the pact for the purchase of power is wrong with private players by the previous Badal regime that this problem arises.
Private companies can turn off thermal plants with their own discretion and even if the closure of thermal plants, the Punjab government pays a fixed fee,” he said.
He said so far around RS 20,000 Crore has been paid to private electricity companies by a fixed cost.
Describing the protest staged by the sad head of Sukhbir Badal for the situation of Poor Strength A Sham, Mann said the SAD-BJP government has signed an agreement wrong with private power companies.
