Guwahati: The level of Covid-19 Assam’s position is dipped in 1.5% on Friday – the lowest since mid-April – shows that infection may be captured gradually.

Expressing concerns over the highest number of Covid infections reported in the past week in Golaghat, the Minister of Health of the Keshab Mahanta State on Friday asked for intensification of vaccination drives in the district.
“We have set a target set from inoculation 50, 000 people in the next four to five days in Golaghat.
This district has received 28,000 vaccine doses and 22,000 other doses will come in the next two days,” Minister said.
The Director of Medical Education and Health of Assam Dr.
Anup Kumar Barman said that more stringent restrictions must be imposed in districts where the spread of infection has been fast.
“The level of Covid infection remains static in the last 15 days.
But when the cases do not decline, we must intensify the drive vaccination in places where the case is detected highly.
The tight protocol must be imposed in several districts where the number of cases is more,” he said.
