Guwahati: Police arrested a 60-year-old man on Monday in Kecatam Regency Assam on charges of raping a woman on Sunday.
Three other accused in this case still running away.
The man who was arrested was identified as Habibur Rahman while the other names were accused of being Abdul Mannan, Samsher Ali and Mazid Ali.
Police Sontoli said that the incident took place in the village of Jawkatadia in Boko in Kumbrup Regency.
“In accordance with the complaint, the woman was taken to the field of rice and was raped by three men when she went with them with the pretext of lending money.
Then, the three of them took the woman to Habibur’s residence where they continued to rape.
There,” police said.
The woman was saved by locals from Habibur’s residence and they had filed complaints against them.
“When the police team reached Habibur’s place on Monday after the complaint was accepted, Abdul, Samsher and Mazid had fled the place,” police said.
