Bengaluru: Former 64-year-old police with alleged Covid-19 could not get a hospital bed under the BBMP quota because he was not a resident of Bengaluru and was not approved by the body of Civic, claiming his family and volunteers.
The BBMP denied the allegations to be apathetic, said it followed up on his case.
It added that he did not have an infection and stable, and therefore, did not require a covid bed.
Retired sub-inspectors of Shivaraj S Othial are residents of Othial villagers in the Vijayapura district.
On July 3, he had a heart stop and rushed to the district hospital.
According to his son-in-law, Shiva Sharana, the doctor suggested that Shivaraj had to undergo three valve surgery, and the family then took him to Bengaluru in the ambulance.
Shivaraj was hospitalized in Hosur Road as a heart patient on July 4 and according to the protocol, he underwent two covid tests.
One negative test, but the other is positive.
Numbers Bengaluru Urban (BU), are assigned to the patient, produced and he shifts to the isolation environment.
“We got the boy’s number and contacted BBMP, but it didn’t make us a bed,” Shiva said.
Vishwanathan, a volunteer with Whitefield Rising, tried to help families.
“Starting Monday morning, I contacted all zonal officers and help channels, but they passed money or said that patients should be tried in Bengaluru.
The hospital that we approached said that only BBMP could assign a bed.
I contacted at least 27 BBMP representatives , but it doesn’t work, “he thought.
He added: “Even though we have Mrs., officials say that the bed cannot be given under the BBMP quota because the patient does not live in Bengaluru and has not been physically tried physically at the BBMP center.
I was surprised that priority was given to rule over Patients.
“After Wiswanathan told the incident on Twitter, he received a call from BBMP on Wednesday morning.
Shivaraj is repatriated at night.
“The doctor has told me that he must be in quarantine and return to surgery after 10 days,” said Shiva.
What BBMP said citizenship officials said that Shivaraj was only the alleged covid patient and did not require a covid bed under the BBMP quota.
“Patients were found positive for Covid-19 in the CBNAAT and negative test in the RT-PCR test.
CT does not show signs of Covid,” said the Special Commissioner of the BBMP (Health) Randeep D.
Randeep said that Hosur Road Hospital stores Shivaraj as a Covid case suspected and removed on Wednesday.
“Our cellular triage team does visit the hospital and collects details of treating doctors and family.
Except for old heart conditions, patients are stable without covid symptoms,” he added.
According to Randeep, the hospital uploaded the positive status of CBNAT on the ICMR system even though the report was considered positive, and was not confirmed positively.
“Even if the patient is not from Bengaluru, after the number bu is produced, it is the responsibility of the BBMP to take care of them,” he said.
