Chandigarh: The Supreme Court on Wednesday direct CBI to investigate the release of land in Haryana’s Rohtak to real estate developers under the Government of Congress of the Head of Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Judge Bangku Lalit, Ajay Rastogi and Aniruddha Bose passed the order for the CBI probe.
At the Land Scam Rohtak, the authority of the Urban Development Haryana (Huda) has proposed to obtain around 850 hectares of land in 2002 in Rohtak.
But in April 2003, only 441 hectares were obtained and remained land released for private builders to develop colonies.
In 2013, the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court in May 2016 had ruled out the decision of the Government of Haryana to release land to private invaders.
The High Court has even charged two senior bureaucrats posted in the office at that time CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda for allegedly liking the developer.
