Guwahati / Silchar / Aizawl: The Chairman of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma said Assam would protect his constitutional limit with Mizoram with all his strength.
Sarma said this after Mizo Nakasa allegedly triggered 2-3 explosions near the Assam-Mizoram border in a short time on Sunday.
He said the Assam police would not be blocked by such tactics.
“The situation of the Assam-Mizoram border remained tense for the past six months.
The situation has not improved as we expected.
But in the past month, we have ensured that no one from the Mizoram team can interfere with Assam,” Sarma told the media in Guwahati on Sunday.
He said an additional DGP-rank officer and some Assam Senior police officers are currently camping along the border between countries.
“At present, even an inch of the land of Assam can be bound by others.
We have built border posts and roads along the border to protect the constitutional limit,” CM said.
He said that on Saturday, two to three bomb blasts occurred near the border but this was within the Mizoram region.
“Maybe, someone thinks that Assam’s police can be expelled by triggering an explosion like that.
Mizoram police will definitely investigate incidents but the Assam Police have no plans to retreat,” Sarma said.
An assam senior police officer on Sunday said the sound of two explosions was heard from Mizoram’s side at 2:40 a.m.
and 2.43 in the morning.
CRPF, which is a neutral style used in Khulicherra Point-II, has been asked to investigate the explosion suspected in the Mizoram region.
