BBMP will spend RS 40 Crore to install a pelic signal, path sign, strip roar and nameplate
Someone might soon be greeted with bright white and colored marks on almost all arterial roads and sub-arteries in the city.
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanaagara Pulike (BBMP) plans to paint public roads and intersections to realize the discipline of the track.
Installing a roar strip, a signboard and signal Pelican is also part of the BBMP Grand Plan, it is estimated to cost Rs 40 Crore.
(The pelican signal has a ‘press’ button that can be activated by pedestrians to rotate the green light and let them cross the road.
On many signals, there is a beep that is heard until the pedestrian crosses to the other side, features that are useful for disturbed vision.)
These works, implemented by BBMP traffic (TEC) traffic cells are proposed below the 15th financial commission grant.
While the Civic body had done similar works in the past, this seemed to be the first time that large-scale plans were being covered up.
Zones such as East and Mahadevapura have received a share of lions with allocations around RS 8 Crore each.
While the Zone of RR Nagar and Bommanahalli will share a grant of Rs 9.49 Crore, the West and South Zone has received at least the allocation of Rs 6.8 Crore.
7.9 Crores have been for Zone Dasarahalli and Yelakeka.
The Civic body plans to complete the work in the next six months.

The tender, which floated on Friday, showed that the BBMP action plan also included the provision of scientific, median roads, median paintings and roadside roads, high-rise pedestrian facilities and other road safety furniture according to the proposal sent by traffic police.
But BBMP does not reveal additional details about the project or bill bill on the e-Procurement portal.

Good project but transparency is lost
VERMA Prof.
Thinish, the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru said that road marks needed but had the smallest level of compliance.
“Lane signs help in traffic and road safety management.
They are soft steps that do not make obstacles.
The value of the path of the path is most understood by both institutions and motorists,” he said.
Some citizens want BBMP to take into account the ward committee when preparing a micro plan.
Srinivas Alavilli, who works for Janagraha, said that large investments must be followed by a better enforcement.
“We don’t see many people breaking red signals to cross the road.
Such disciplines are needed when joining the path system too.
Therefore, enforcement is a must.
It will be ridiculous to continue to install Bollard everywhere,” he said.
MV Srinivas, Executive Engineer at BBMP (TEC) does not respond to calls.
