Bengaluru: Former Minister of Chief BS Yediyurappa has been given a cabinet rating status by his replacement of Bukavaraj Bommai.
A command was issued on Saturday, which said he would enjoy the status until the bommai remained in the helmet.
This is the first time in Karnataka that such status has been given to ex-cm without him holding posterori.
The source said the status was given mainly to ensure Yediyurappa maintained his official Cauvery bungalow, the residence of the CM, although he would have to get an official car to move other than benefits and other benefits.
This will leave Bommai without the official residence now.
At present, he functions from his family’s house in RT Nagar, who is on the site allocated for his father and former CM, Sr.
Bommai, in the early 1990s.
According to a member at the Yediyurappa office, the former CM wanted to retain the Cauvery bungalow because it was closer to the power seat.
In 2018-19, the former CM Siddaramaiiah continued to live in Cauvery when HD Kumaraswamy took over as the main minister in the Jdscongress government.
Even though he did not take advantage of the status of the cabinet rating, he received a bungalow allocated for KJ George, who was a minister in the coalition government.
Siddaramaiiah moved after BJP formed a government in 2019 and Yediyurappa occupy the bungalow because it proved to be lucky for Siddaramaiiah because he was the only CM after Devaraj Urs to complete a full period of time.
According to officials, administration provides an official residence for only members of the cabinet.
But cm can recommend them for MLA.
Former Chairman of Minister Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda also enjoyed the status of cabinet rankings for several years after resigning.
“The government according to the Kabinetrank status to people who occupy is normal Will like the cabinet to be compiled, “said Sandeep Shastri, a political analyst.
