Bengaluru: The state government has planned a special health camp for children in the age group 6-16 years to ensure they remain immune in front of the third wave of Covid-19 infection that is possible.
After reviewing the situation of the Pandemic in Mysuru, Chairman of the Minister of Bukavaraj Bommai said the Ministry of Health has been instructed to provide other vitamins and supplements to children to improve their immunity to Covid and other diseases.
Bommai said the officials of the Ministry of Revenue, Health, Women and Welfare and Education have been directed to regulate health camps in schools and PHC to improve children’s health on war footing and take steps needed to increase their immunity.
He said the government would provide 20 ventilators to be used in facilities established to treat young covid patients.
“These steps are taken after a report saying about 40% of children in India are malnourished and therefore are vulnerable to Covid,” said Bommai.
Cm confirms that the center will soon increase the allocation of carnataka from the covid-19 vaccine dose to one crore per month.
“After the allocation increases, we can give five doses of lakh a day.
Until now, the state gets an average of 63-65 lakh doses a month,” he said.
He said special drive vaccination would be carried out in rural areas, especially in the border district, to protect the villagers towards viruses.
