Guwahati: All Assam Minorities Student Union (Aamsu) held a sit-in in Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday, demanding the rehabilitation of the Dholpur family expelled at Darrang Assam Regency.

In a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Aamsu said the families were evicted in Darrang facing lack of food, drinking water, medicines and shelter.
“Two children from families who were evicted in Garukhuti (Darrang) were reported to have died of seasonal cold,” said the statement.
