Aasu demanded demarcation of Patkai DIING National Park

Dibrugarh: Assam Student Union (AASU) on Friday conducted a two-hour sit-in in the city of Naharchatia Dibrugarh who was looking for the right demarcation of the newly inaugurated Patkai Diing National Park.
On July 3, the Minister of Environment and Parimal Forest Suklabaidya had inaugurated a 234.26-SQKM National Park, which was under the range of Jeypore each and Soriapung District of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia.
Further forests spread in the Kondap district and Changlang from Arunachal Pradesh.
Dehing Patkai formed the largest lowland rainforest expanse in India.
There have been accusations that more than 110 hectares of national parks have been under illegal occupation by neighboring countries.
“The boundaries of Patkai DII’s garden have not been clearly restricted after the recent increase from wildlife reserves,” said President Dibrugarh District Aasu Abani Kumar Gogoi.
