Chandigarh: Ahead of the Union budget to be presented by Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman in parliament on February 1, Chandigarh administration has requested Rs 5,833 Crore for the financial year 2022-2023.
UT has demanded around RS 647 Crore more than the last budget, where RS 5,186 Crore was accepted.
Administration has searched the RS 550 Crore for the Capital Section and RS 5,283 Crore under the income segment.
The capital section consists of the amount intended for projects in the city, maintenance and development of new developments and construction.
The income section is intended for committed liabilities and expenses such as salaries and wages of all parts of administrative employees, pension benefits, fuel expenditures and other related expenses.
“No matter how many budgets allocated to us, our focus will be in the health segment because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have prepared a budget for the next financial year after intensive training, keeping all the requirements in mind.
