Panchkula: District administration takes the initial steps needed to convert Panchkula into a city powered by solar energy.
In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh instructed officials to establish a 2 megawatt solar power plant in seven hectares of land in Naggal village in Barwala.
8,000 electrical units produced every day will be supplied to the Department of Electricity.
Administration also plans to establish five megawatts of solar power in five government buildings.
The power produced from this building will be adjusted in the Huda electricity bill (urban development authority).
The department of renewable energy, official Haryana (Hareda) who worked on the project said that one solar power plant needed a minimum of three hectares of land and RS 3 Crore.
Under the ‘Surya City – Green City’ project, the administration will replace all street lights, government building lights and government housing housing lights with LED lights.
Plans to install solar plates in all industrial units in the district are also ongoing.
A senior official who worked on the project said, “The plan is to produce 20% of a total of 607 million units of daily consumption in this district.” Those who use 30 kilowatts and above electricity in industrial or commercial units they must install solar power systems.
The power department is preparing a list of all units and the notification will be issued for them.
Electrical connection units that fail to install solar plants after receiving three notifications will be cut.
The electric bus follows the vision of the city of Surya, the government has made a plan to start the electric city bus with the Haryana highway department.
Charging Stations Solar filling stations must be built in the city to promote electric vehicles, including Harera Buildings in Sector-17, DC Office Sector-1, UHBVN Building Sector-14, Community Center for Community Corporation Municipal and Park.
Huda rules for housing houses with areas of more than 500 square meters must prepare solar power plants to obtain permission for home construction.
