BENGALURU: A 31-year-old psychologist who supposedly stole a baby boy minutes after his arrival in May this past year was detained.
Dr Rashmi Shashikumar had struck a deal with a few from North Karnataka, also gave them the infant, saying that it was their kid given by a surrogate mother.
A resident of Vijayanagar, Rashmi was recently working with a private clinic in Bannerghatta Road.
Authorities said the physician, who’s from Chikkodi at Belagavi district, had taken Rs 14.
5 lakh in the bunch and guaranteed them a baby from surrogacy at May 2020.
Police tracked the kid to Koppal in north Karnataka on Saturday — a year later he was shot from the hospital and introduced him to Bengaluru.
The stunned couple said that they had been forced to think the boy had been their kid born although a surrogate mother they never fulfilled.
The baby remains together and has experienced DNA evaluation, amongst others, to affirm his parents.
Rashmi was detained on Sunday and has been held in police custody, and together with her very own 45-day-old infant girl.
On May 29 final year, Rashmi stole the infant from the BBMP authorities hospital at Chamarajpet, authorities said.

Tests revaled that the female physician in question wasn’t a staffer of this hospital.
CCTV footage showed the identical girl carrying the child from the hospital.

An investigating officer said Rashmi’d fulfilled the few when coping with a private clinic at Hubballi at 2015.

On May 29, she entered the ward and then discovered Banu with infant.
She also gave the attendant sleeping pills, even requesting her to nourish it into Banu,” he explained.
Since Banu dropped asleep, Rashmi picked the baby up left the hospital.
She moved into some buddy’s place in Viajayanagar at which the couple was requested to come, authorities said.
