Guwahati: Seven Indian Army personnel who were shocked by the snow landslock in the high Kameng sector from Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday had been confirmed to die on Tuesday by the army.
“Search operations and rescue launched immediately, including a special airlifting team, and now it has been concluded.
The body of the seventh individual has recovered from a landslide site.
Unfortunately, regardless of the best efforts of all the people involved, seventh has been confirmed dead,” said Pro (Assam said Arunachal Pradesh) Lt of Col Harsh Wardhan Pande.
He added that the area, located at an altitude of 14500 feet, had witnessed bad weather with heavy snowfall since the last few days.
“The body of the soldiers is currently being transferred from a landslide site to the nearest army medical facility for further formalities,” he added.
