BENGALURU: The infamous traffic snarls returned to haunt Bengaluru since the lockdown curbs levied over a month back to include Covid-19 were progressing on Monday.
Countless vehicles coming in the neighbouring Hosur at Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu were spotted stuck in lengthy queues at Attibele at Bengaluru.
The traffic expanded upward to Bommanahalli along with Silk Board Junction.
There has been a chock-a-block in Freedom Park, Seshadripuram, Malleswaram, Town Hall, Richmond Road and Kempe Gowda Road directly in the middle of town Too.
Banashankari and regions around Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, along with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) also watched traffic jams.” The rush onto the road is scary because we might be inviting a second tide of Covid-19,” R Venkatesh, that observed heavy traffic onto the street at Banashankari, stated PTI.
Reports reaching here indicated that key streets in large towns like Kalaburagi, Vijayapura and Hubballi overly seen heavy vehicular motion.
While imposing a strict lockdown from May 10 onwards, the Karnataka government had granted daily comfort from 6am to 10am.
Now the comfort was expanded from 6am to 2pm daily except for weekends at 19 districts, that found considerable decrease in Covid diseases.
Autorickshaws and taxis are permitted to ply.
The stringent curbs will stay in effect in 11 districts, and in which the positivity rate hasn’t come back to desirable levels, with all relaxation staying unchanged from 6am to 10am.
