Silchar: The trial of six foreigners (FT) functions in Cachar District dominated by Bengali from Assam has stated as many as 22 “foreigners” in December only.
Of the 22, 19 Hindus speak Bengali and Muslims who speak Bengali.
This despite the fact that the Government of Assam on September 4 last year directed the court of foreigners – who judged citizenship in the country – to hold on to giving a “opinion” to one’s nationality, and refrain from giving “consequential”.
In new activities after the pause during the first wave and both Pandemic Covid-19, six FTS of Cachar of 100 in Assam, in a separate assessment stated 22 men and women “strangers” on different dates on 2021.
FT Sources said 14 of 22 stated “Foreigners” in a unilateral court ruling.
Additional police supervisors (borders) of the district sent a letter to the district judge (Cachar) with a new list of “foreigners”.
He said all public welfare schemes from centers such as ration cards, aadhaar cards and so on will be taken from people included in the list.
Their name will also be removed from the voter list.
The source said FT-1 and FT-2 under the Silchar Police Station area at the top of the FTS list which has stated the maximum number of “foreigners” people.
As many as 10 people have been declared “strangers” in the city and suburbs.
Interestingly, eight of the 10 has been classified as “foreigners” by the unilateral tribunal decision.
The other two have joined the tribunal process.
North Linguistic Coordination Committee and Ethnicity Secretary General Kankan Narayan Sikdar has expressed deep concern for the incident.
He said because the non-enactment of the citizenship law (Amendment), 2019, for two years, Hindu Bengali specifically faced extreme abuse on behalf of the identification of “foreigners”.
“Declaring a total of 22 people, including 19 Bengali Hinduism in ‘Foreigners’ in one month really painful.
The Coordination Committee will work with people in this case challenging FTS decisions in the High Court and prove that they are Indians, “He said.
