Guwahati: Twenty-eight students have been found positively in the Sainik School, Goalpara, for the past five weeks, who have led the district government to place a leading boarding school under the detention for an unlimited period.
Students, most of them have arrived at a leading housing school from other countries, allegedly distributing infection.
While some students have recovered, 12 students are currently positive and all are ruled out to the Talpara civil hospital.
The first positive casing was detected in October.
He was a class XI student who came from another state after school was reopened.
“When class XI students were tested after placing them under quarantine for a week, one boy was found positive.
It was a trigger,” said the captain of a Muthuraman, the principal.
Even though mice were carried out on all students during arrival and they cleaned the Covid test, he said, maybe they were infected on the way.
The virus might not be active at that time, said school officials.
“Mostly + students from other states, some class XI students did have Covid at first.
After three weeks the teacher was tested positively, and with him some class XII boys also did it,” said Muthuraman.
On Monday, another teacher was tested positively and as well as 12 students.
“About five students, who have now recovered, are on the school campus.
But 12 students who tested positive last Monday were in a civil hospital destination,” main added.
There is no certainty when the detention order will be withdrawn.
Resources at the State Health Department said episodes in Goggara have revealed that the dangers remained near the campus are still hiding, even though the hostels have been reopened throughout the country.
“The inactivity characters from Coronavirus can turn active anytime.
This is evidenced in the Sainik School, Goalpara,” said a health department official.
Covid cases were also revealed in several government schools and private schools in the country in recent weeks.
Deputy Commissioner Meenakshi Das Nath Nath Toi that the number of Covid cases in the destination district has not yet risen.
He, however, raises fears that infection has been detected among students.
“Most cases are students from other states that have gone after school reopen.
Everyone on campus will be tested,” said Nath.
