Assam: 3 Flood Dists, more than 15,000 for temporarily moved

(By Rokibuz Age) Guwahati: Floods have affected three districts in Assam, while moving 15,181 people and forced 656 to take refuge in assistance camps, officials said.
While Chirang had witnessed floods in Assam Barat, Dhemaji and Dibrugarh had been beaten in East Assam.
Dhemaji is the worst affected district with 10,764 people shaken under the flood.
This situation worsened when the meeting department warned that there would be no traffic jams in heavy rain for the next three to four days throughout the state.
Updates by the State Disaster Management Authority on Sunday said five aid camps were functional in three affected districts.
There is no loss of life, he said.
This report added that Brahmaputra and some of the tributaries flowed above the danger in certain stretches.
Erosion has been witnessed in four Biswanath Districts, Bongaigaon, Goalpara and Kokrajhar.
The Indian Meteorology Department on Sunday issued an orange warning for the next four days for Assam, Meghalaya and Pradesh Arunachal, predicts heavy and intense rainfall.
Deputy Director General of Meteorology, Regional Meteorology Center, Sanjay O’Neill Shaw, said there would be an increase in Southwest Monsun Rainfall in Northeast India between 22 and 26 August.
“The trough monsoon passes through Bikaner, Patna, Balurghat, and from there moves east to Nagaland.” Shaw said.
