Guwahati: The ministerial specific bird cell on Saturday carried out an attack in three places related to the nearest Associate of Saibar Rahman, Assam civilian officers, who were arrested in cases of disproportionate assets.
Rahman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly collecting property values during Rs 100 Crore in an illegal way for about two decades.
The police said he obtained property that was disproportionate with the known source of income, and through “corrupt” means.
Special citizenship cell Minister Rosie Kalita told TII, “We have searched for three places on Saturday.
This property was not related to Rahman, but was found in the name of the nearest associate.
We are investigating it.
Some people have been interrogated and we have found several documents, Which shows that Rahman has many other traits.
“Police have calculated Rahman’s income, assets, and expenditure from June 23, 2002, until April 30 this year.
“The researchers found that Rahman got 89 properties landed in one of his two wives from June 23, 2002, until April 30, 2021.
The market value of property landed was more than RS 100 Crore,” SP said.
The request also revealed that Rahman had mobile assets and did not move with RS tones 6,38,12,188, and 95% of them were disproportional assets.
The source said Rahman, came from Keyakuchi in the Barpeta district, had two buildings in Guwahati – one in Beltola and the others in Hatgaon.
