JORHAT: A BSF staff, together with many others, have been detained at Jhanji close to the Jorhat-Sivasagar NH district boundary on NH 37 for breach of Covid-19 protocols along with attacking an on-duty police constable at about 1:30 am on Saturday.
The detained trio are identified as BSF employees Poroma Gogoi, Kusum Gogoi and Gyandeep Hazarika.
They were created before a local court Jorhat and so were shipped to 14 times of custody.
Authorities said the three detained persons, riding a bike, were in their way into Namti at Sivasagar from Boloma at Jorhat at about 1:30 am, if a three-member police staff intercepted them in Jhanji since inter-district motion was barred because of this Covid-19 pandemic.
Teok police channel officer-in-charge Satish Sahu explained,”When our staff asked them to block the bicycle, the trio attacked constable Pranab Baruah who sustained several injuries in his head, head and different areas of the human body.
Baruah’s four teeth of the chest were ruined.
Afterwards, a different police force reached the place and detained them.” Sahu added that besides father 353 (injury or criminal force to deter public servant from releasing his responsibility ), the trio were earmarked under section 325 (punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 307 (Attempt to murder) and 393 (Try to commit robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.
