The Cabinet also decided to combine the Guwahati Development Department and the Urban Development Department to establish a housing department and affairs in the union ministry with the same nomenclature.
This, said Manganta, will assist in a fluent flow of funds from the urban development center.
In the transfer of other unification, the Department of General Administration (GAD) and the Administrative Department of the Secretariat will now be known as GAD.
