Hailakandi: Unlimited curved curves have been clamped at the Seranpore tea park and its closest area in Hailakandi District from Assam after clashes between two groups of accidents, officials said on Tuesday.
Six people were arrested for alleged their role in violence and vandalism in the area on Monday night, Hailakandi Rohan Judge said Jha.
Jha imposes “total working hours” in Serispore Tea Park and three nearby villages – Naraitpur PT-II, West-I and Chandpur, with effects from 10pm on Monday night.
“The situation is peaceful now and there are no unwanted situations that have been reported from anywhere.
Police and paramilitary forces patrolled the area,” said the district judge told PTI.
The connection was reported starting in front of a temple after a collision between auto and e-rickshaw on Monday.
A police team reached the place and brought the situation under control.
In the hours of the night, Jha said vandalism and violence were reported from the Seranpore market and “there was a probability of further violence incidents” in the area.
All government and private offices, shops, commercial companies and other installations have been ordered to remain closed in the specified area.
Orders also prohibit public movements, collection, meetings or demonstrations during the restriction period.
“Because of the needs of the situation, this order passes ex-parte.
It will apply with the effect of 10pm 16/08/2021 and remain valid until the order further,” said the official direction.
Hailakandi District Development Commissioner Ranjit Kumar Laskar said the situation was tense but under current control, and no new incident had occurred since Monday night.
