Guwahati: A 54-year-old school teacher has been arrested under the protection of children from sexual violations (Pocso) acting for allegedly persecuting a 10-year-old girl in the West Dhubri district on Friday.
The incident occurred in Piyajbari Village under the Gauripur Police Station on Thursday night.
Survivior family submitted FIR on Friday.
Gauripur police told the media that the defendant had been arrested under the relevant sections of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and Pocso Law based on pine filed by the little girl family.
“According to the complainant, the defendant, who was alone in his house, called a little girl at his residence and sought it,” police said.
The girl reached the defendant’s residence after unable to find it anywhere in their area and save a minor from there.
Learning about the incident, local residents in the Gheraoed area of the defendant’s teacher’s house.
Then, the defendant was handed over to the police.
“We have recorded a statement that survived and arrested the defendant and further investigation was underway,” police said.
On June 27, a 45-year-old man who worked as a medical representative, was arrested for allegedly “attacking sexual” a 9-year-old girl in Bada Assam District, who fell under the territorial area of Bodoland.
The incident was revealed two days later after the victim told this problem to his parents.
