Guwahati: Assam on Monday published an integrated draft electoral roll for 126 legislative elections with an increase of 1.78% of voters after “purification” from the election list published on January 18.
In accordance with the electoral roll published in January, Assam has a total of 2, 29,92,505 voters.
This has increased to 2,34.02,833 in an integrated selection roll design.
The final list will be published on January 5 next year.
Voters will be able to apply for claims and objections to the authorities concerned related to inclusion or exception their names in the election list until November 30.
Claims and objections will be discarded by December 20.
Head of the Election Officer (CEO) Nitin Khade said TOI that there was an increase of 4.10.328 in the list after purification.
“There are various reasons behind the increase in voters in the updated list.
Pandemic Covid-19 is one of the reasons significant.
Many people have returned to the state of various parts of India after the election, decided not to leave the country.

Migrating voters are another reason, “he added.
The Nagaon district has recorded the highest increase in voters in accordance with the design design.
A total of 52,847 new names have been registered in fresh drafes.
Nagaon was attended by the Sonitpur district with an increase of 42,693 and Golaghat with 24,395.
Meanwhile, Dhubri has decreased voters.
In accordance with the selection roll published in January, the district has 9,91,621 voters.
This has decreased by 572.
This district now has 9,91,049 voters.
The CEO said this decline was caused by the negligence of the voter name entry.
“Sometimes, incidentally people might register their names in two different places.
After the list purification, the exact number came out,” he added.
Kamrup (Metro) Regency has recorded a 14,945 voter.
Figure 11.37.375 (according to the list published in January) has reached 11,52,320 in a fresh roll draft.
