Guwahati: Life has returned to near normal here after relaxing covid restrictions extended until night from Monday.
Health officials say that cases have become static with around 150 reported every day.
The average peposititivity level in the capital for a while is 1%.

“In absolute numbers, around 150 cases were reported from Greater Guwahati every day.
Although it has been reduced from around 1,600 cases per day until a few days ago, people need to be very careful,” said Joint Director, Health Services, Cecarmrup (Metropolitan )), Dr.
Ganesh Saikia, adding that despite a lot of effort, cases have not dropped below 100.
He links a decline in the level of participants in urban districts to nearly 20,000 tests.
While Kamrup (Metropolitan) reported the highest cases at the peak of the second wave in May, now the spread is more worrying in the district.
Although many Covid patients from other districts were also undergoing treatment at the City Hospital, the death toll of Covid-19 had been burdened in metropolitan.
Against the death of the country daily around 30 in the past week, the Hospital Guwahati reported about 30 deaths in the last 10 days.
“In our district, most cases under hospitalization come from other districts but there are still significant decreases in the fatality.
In the next four days, both death and participation are expected to fall,” said Saikia.
The focus has now shifted to the country’s rural areas and in Kamrup (metropolitan) in the villages in the Sonapur circle a concern.
“We get many cases from the detention zone in Sonapur.
Strict testing is being carried out,” he added.
“The conducive environment can trigger a Delta variant infection.
But at the same time we need to realize that people cannot be limited to their home long.
Even though there are limitations, around 150 cases are still reported,” said Saikia.
Although relaxation has been given, health officials said, more testing will continue.
Although relaxation in testing was given to Assam because the passengers arrived after getting a dose, all patients went to consult a doctor still need to go through mandatory testing.
The last 10-day data showed a third position with 1,727 total cases, after Golaghat (2,133 cases) and Sonitpur Regency (2,123 cases).
However, health and administrative officials still on their toes, such as Kamrup (Metropolitan) recorded 149 of the highest cases between the district on Sunday.
But there are no reports of more than 10 cases from a small pocket in the city area.
Additional DC, Sharmishhtha Bora, said the number of positive cases had significantly dropped at the airport and the train station.

After almost 25,000 tests per day, the cumulative number of cases has been quite low in the metropolitan (metropolitan),” he said.
