Guwahati: sensational murder of Nandita Saikia, a third semester student of Dhakuakhana in the Lakhimupur Assam district, will be heard in the fast track.
Informing the decision of the Counter Cabinet taken on Thursday, Roman Pegu Cabinet Minister said special DGP GP Singh had been directed to oversee the entire investigation process.
“The cabinet revealed a deep surprise and sadness over Nandita’s murder.
The Cabinet recommends a trial of a fast trail court in this case.
Singh has been directed to oversee the investigation process,” he said.
The Minister also prayed to God for the peace of the death and expressed condolences to his family members.
The girl, who came from Naba Kathbaru Village in Dhakakhana, was allegedly attacked with a machete by one sarma in the Assam District Dhemuji after he rejected his marriage proposal on August 21.
