Guwahati: The Covid case shows signs of a surge again in the capital city of Guwahati, although the total cases and levels of the Assam’s position have dropped significantly despite the threat of the third wave.
Golaghat was at the top of Covid Count 10 days a week ago on July 11.
But on Saturday night, Kamrup (Metro), which included Guwahati City, has surpassed all districts.
Kamrup (Metro) was above with 2,162 cases, while Golaghat was in second place with 2,135 cases, followed by Lakhimpur with 1,452 cases.
However, in the daily number on Saturdays, Kamrup (Metro) registered 250 cases in 24 hours – the highest among all districts in Assam.
Although the Golaghat and Jorhat districts in Assam above were the main concerns before, everyday cases in both districts fell to 172 and 119 on Saturday.
District health officials argue that the daily case shows the trend of increases in Kamrup (Metro) because of 18,000-20,000 tests carried out per day in the district, which is the highest in the state.
However, health experts blame the increase in cases to the Delta variant which is said to be more contagious.
“The new trend has been noticed in Guwahati.
Some of the same family members are being infected.
We can breathe easily only when everyday case in Kamrup (Metro) falls below 100,” said Gahati Medical College College Principal Dr.
Achyut Baishya.
Health officials said the Covid transmission chain in the city was not yet damaged.
Instead, they said raised most of the restrictions from Guwahati had resulted in fresh infections.
“The level of participants Assam has dropped to around 1.2 percent last week but the total number of cases in the city has increased, although a little.
This is not an encouraging sign,” said a senior health official.
In particular, the level of participants of the state has reached 1.86 percent on Sundays starting at 1.29 percent on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the resources of the Ministry of Health said that new SOPs will be announced for Assam on Monday.
Privy sources for a review meeting chaired by Himanta’s head minister Buswa Sarma on Sunday said most of the provisions of the existing SOP can continue in the state, with restrictions on the movement of the night.
Some of the seven districts tend to get help from the night’s room.
However, curfew tends to continue in all districts from 5pm.
“Although there is an increase in the case of Guwahati, more restrictions in capital is not possible again.
In front of vaccination.
, There is no big decision that can be taken because of the erratic supply of vaccines, he added.
