Guwahati: Politics has started a fresh covid restriction imposed by the Assam government through a new SOP that will be a reducer in the celebration of the upcoming Magh bubble in mid-January.
The Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha and Kalibor MP Gaurav Gogoi brought to Twitter on Sunday to express hurt for the state government’s decision to limit the celebration of the bihu but gave the selection of local agency polls.
“The new SOP in Assam has closed the school and limits the celebration of the BIHU but the election campaign for the election of the local Autonomous Kachari Selaya Sagana is not touched by the state government,” Gaurav tweeted.
He mentioned the irony to have a double approach to the state government towards general elections and celebrations and class activities amid a worrying surge in Covid cases.
“I’m part of the political process so that it will obey the rules but it is difficult to ignore the irony,” he wrote.
Magh bihu or bhogali bihu is a festival that most celebrates in the Brahmaputra Assam valley, marking the end of the harvest season.
The celebration of Magh Bihu began with the party partying on the night of Sankranti Makar, called “Urukuka”, around the structure such as a cottage called “Meji” or ‘Bhela Ghar “- made of bamboo and straw.
The next morning Magh Bubu, people burned Meji after a holy shower and prayed before.
This is one of the three binds, known for partying and joking when Granaries become abundant by harvesting rice.
The city body selection is also likely to be held in February.
Even when the political circle speculates that the agency polls speculate Urban areas in the country can be suspended amid scarcing Covid, the EC decision to conduct assembly polls in several countries in February-March may not change the planning of local body selection in Indonesia states on time.
In such circumstances, opposition parties and political leaders, throwing Ethno-regional lines, has fallen a lot on the government n Egara part led by BJP because it does not provide enough relaxation to celebrate the Magh Bihu, which is full preparation.
Firebrand leader Farmers and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi have threatened to violate the covid limit on Magh Bubu.
He criticized the chairman of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma for giving relaxation at night at 31 December to celebrate the new year celebration but not in the traditional Fest of Magh Bubu.
“The boundary imposed by the Assam government in Magh Bihu is unacceptable.
By providing relaxation on December 31 night, the new year celebration is permitted.
The government also becomes soft on the covid sidewalk on the New Year’s Day.
But our own cultural festival faces the attack,” said Akhil.
As night walks in the state of 10pm to 6 in the morning, Akhil said it would ruin Uruka’s night and the combustion tradition of Meji in the morning at Magh Bubu.
“If the new year and puja can be celebrated without worry, why limit our cultural festival?” Akhil asked.
