Guwahati: Although the state government feels it is time to facilitate restrictions and allow travel vehicles between districts to help the country back to normal, health experts have reminded that until the Daily Covid-19 case falls below 500, will be too risky for attracting travel sidewalks between districts.
The government plans to provide maximum relaxation to Covid Curbs after August 15, including a nod to enable inter-district vehicle movements.
The state government has banned the movement of vehicles between districts in mid-May except for emergency services to be told when around 90 Covid deaths and 6,000 daily cases were reported in the state.
Restrictions for 15 days but continued for almost three months.
Despite strict testing, the number of daily cases still floated around 1,000 in the state, which health officials are said to need monitoring.
“We expect everyday case to fall below 500 before the government decided to attract most restrictions, including a ban between districts.
This will be a much safer situation,” Executive Director of the National Health Mission, Assam, Dr.
Manoj Choudhury.
, told toi.
Daily statistics in the state of this month show uneven trends, fluctuating between 900 and 1,200 cases.
Because the curfew has been relaxed until 6 pm from this week, the nature of the virus spread was watched by health experts.
The state government adopts the policy to continue intensive testing, despite gradual and slow decreases in the number of positive cases.
The idea is to isolate the maximum hidden case and those traced through contact search.
But two months after strict testing from almost more than one lakh per day, Choudhury said they would love to have a case of everyday down to around 500 this week.
“The Covid situation remains stagnant.
There is no new tension detected, the lower mortality rate, but, swimming in the case of everyday has been slow,” said spokesman for the Ministry of Health.
The process of easing Covid restrictions in the state is set to gain further momentum amid fears of the possibility of the third wave.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Picus) is being turned on in all districts for children who have not been vaccinated.
During the second wave (from April 1 to August 10), a total of 3.57,737 positive cases were detected in the country, including around 3.44 lakh patients had run out.
However, the number of Covid deaths has been four times higher than the first wave.
While 4,315 Covid deaths have been reported in the second wave to Tuesday, in total one year (from March 31, 2020 to 31 March 2021), the appropriate number is 1,105.
The resources of the Ministry of Health told TII that if the third wave came, in countries such as Assam the situation would greatly depend on the number of cases in Western Indian countries.
Even if new cases rose suddenly in these countries, northeastern state as Assam might get at least one month to filter a positive case while entering the region.
“The Ministry of Health Assam was not too worried about the third wave at the moment.
We expect clear signals from Western countries from which Covid-19 spread to Assam after one and a half months during the first and second waves.,” Said a senior health department official.
