Guwahati: To continue to provide a “sustainable remunerative price” to Dairy Cow Farmers Assam, West Assam Milk Cooperative based in Guwahati (Wamul) – known as Purabi Dairy – has increased the price of all pasteurized pockets.
The milk variant is rs 1 per 500 ml of pockets from Sunday.
Price revisions in line with Purabi Dairy increase the price of milk procurement of rs 1 per kg of milk obtained from assam dairy cattle farmers – increase operating costs, fuel costs, packaging and inflation costs in general.
Wamul currently holds an average number every day from 41,000 kg of milk from around 14,000 dairy cows.
Today the ‘Purabi’ brand is around 64,000 liters of milk per day.
Although the market was hit by a Covid pandemic, Wamul still reached a sales turnover of Rs 120 Crore on March 31, 2021.
