Guwahati: Assam and Mizoram will hold a Cabinet level talks in Aizawl on Thursday to ‘break ice’ after the current border defense since July 26 after six assam police personnel were shot dead by Mizoram police.

Himanta Buswa Sarma, we will discuss with the Mizoram government.
We are quite hopeful from peaceful settlement.” In terms of Mizoram, the meeting will be attended by the Minister of Home Affairs Lalchamliana and land income and minister Lalruatkima settlement.
Singhal said Assam would present two extensive viewpoints – it would not recognize any part of the geographical area which was improved constitutionally and at the same time would encourage peaceful discussions.
Singhal is also the Minister of Guardian Cachar District where flare-up occurs.
“Demarcation of boundaries between countries is the central subject but here the limit between Assam and Mizoram has been constitutionally restricted.
There is only a dispute about the boundary between the two countries and if the two states can resolve this among themselves, Delhi does not have a role to play.
