GUWAHATI: At the initial few weeks of this monsoon between June 1 and 20, Assam obtained 255.8 millimeter rain, 22.5 mm under the standard mark, based on India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Although ten districts of Assam undergone monsoon shortage, the total monsoon operation is ordinary, bringing respite from the agricultural industry.
Four and seven Assam districts reported excess and normal rain, respectively, up to now.
Although two districts – Dhemaji and Dibrugarh – experienced substantial excess rain during the last few months, five districts namely Dhubri, Morigaon, Golaghat, Hailakandi and Jorhat have obtained substantial deficit storms, causing difficulties from the tea as well as other plants.
Aside from Assam and Mizoram that have regular monsoon, another five populous countries witnessed rain deficiencies because these nations obtained poor rain in this season.
Manipur seen deficient rain with a lack of 57 percent followed by Meghalaya (42 percent ), Tripura (34 percent ), Nagaland (29 percent ), Arunachal Pradesh (23 percent ) and Mizoram (12 percent ).
