Guwahati: Assam has imposed a rental action to build a lease authority to regulate place rental, which will be driven by the market and determined by a joint agreement between tenants and landlords to protect the interests of both parties.
Officials here said Assam was the first country in this country to do it.
The new law has been formulated on the basis of the Tenancy Law model approved by the Union Cabinet on June 2, 2021, for adoption in all states and the United States.
The bill was introduced in the legislature on August 9 and continued on Friday after the Lease Control Law Assam Urban region, 1972, stood revoked.
This law will provide a quick adjudication mechanism for resolving disputes and related issues between landlords and tenants through the formation of rental authorities, rental courts and appellate rentals at the district level.
The next action determines the duties and obligations of landlords and tenants regarding the maintenance and maintenance of the building, eliminating any ambiguity in this matter.
There will be no artificial hats in repairing rental places.
Building rent will be driven by the market and will be determined by a joint agreement between tenants and landlords.

“There are many cases delayed between landlords and tenants in the civil court.
For this we will have a court rental or hire an appeal authority in each district.
This dispute will be resolved there,” Singhal added.
