Guwahati: More than 73% of nearly eight Lakh voters in five Assembly Constituencies Assam in which the Bypolls were held on Saturday it turned out at the polling station for the second time in six months in the midst of a pandemic situation to give their voices.
The Election Commission said the final vote percentage might be higher and will be published on Sunday.
The average voter voter in five of these constituencies in April elections is more than 81%.
Bypolls were held in Gossiigaon, Bhabanipur, Thowra, Tamulpur and Mariani and no unwanted large incidents reported from anywhere in the state during the voting hour.
Both the Ruler Congress and Coalition claimed to be a trigger in the election where the opposition union could not be sewn after the ‘Mahajot’ Congress LED was dissolved due to the cracks between the old Grand Party and Aiudf Badruddin Ajmal.
In Thowra, Mariani and Bhabanipur, the separator was held when MLA sat from Congress and AIDF resigned as a legislator and joined BJP which formed a second straight government in the country in May.
