GUWAHATI: Government Railway Police (GRP) sub-inspector Badri Prasad Baruati, that had been detained by the city authorities for allegedly selling gold into some businessman on Tuesday, was delivered to unsuspecting police remand from the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup (Metro) on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Bharalu police detained two workers of a jewelry store in Nagaon who’d bought gold in the SI.
The accused have been identified as Manoj Shah and Aman Ali.
They had been hauling the gold out of Nagaon into Guwahati if a police group captured them recovered gold worth Rs 50 lakh.

On the grounds of his announcement, authorities picked up the SI on Tuesday and recovered $ lakh from his car.
A group of Guwahati police later staged the official home of the SI and contested his spouse Bornali Bora, who’s likewise a GRP SI stationed in Haibargaon, Nagaon.
