Guwahati / Shillong: The mystery of a 13-year-old boy from the Sonapur area in Assam, who reportedly tested Omicron positively in Meghalaya, deepened on Wednesday after the Ministry of Health Meghalaya announced that the teenager returned halfway and the Assam search team found him missing.
Director of Health Services (DHS), Meghalaya, Dr.
Secure War, on Wednesday said the country has so far recorded four omicron cases since the fifth, namely small children from Assam, have been transferred to the countries of the domicile.
The war clarified that the boy’s boy and his family entered Meghalaya on December 21 and was tested at Umling’s entry point on the same day.
“But half the way they returned.
They never lived in Langkyrding since they returned before even reaching Shillong,” Dhs said.
All day, the Assam police and the Ministry of Health’s team failed to track the boy even after 24 hours of confirming the Covid status by Meghalaya’s health department on Tuesday.
“When our team went looking for a family residence in Moirakuchi in Digming, the house was found locked,” a source at the State Health Department told Ti on Wednesday night.
Minister of Justice Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma also stressed that the Government of Meghalaya has confirmed that the boy came from somewhere near Digming .
In Shillong, War said said about four cases of Omicron, three had recovered.
