Guwahati: The police on Tuesday arrested Employees of the Ministry of Health for allegedly establishing the signature of the state-level medical reference council members to claim medical replacement.
The defendant, identified as Ganesh Kalita, is an employee at Khanapara State Dispensary in the city.
Kalita was produced in front of the court of Judge Judge, Kamrup (Metro) and was taken to seven-day police custody for further investigation.

GMCH filed three separate firs on a total of 41 different government department officials, including Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL), the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance.
As many as 34 direct officials from the General Manager Assistant to Class IV employees APDCL have absorbed more than Rs 1.46 Crore by forging medical reference certificates and other documents on behalf of available medical replacement.
However, the police have not arrested APDCL officials.
Police officers said no one would survive if found involved in forging documents.
