Guwahati: The deteriorating Covid-19 situation has forced the authorities in Sonitpur, which is under total detention, to impose a total kuncian in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Sonitpur Bhupesh Chandra Das said all shops dealing with sales of food, vegetables, meat, eggs and dairy products will remain closed from Thursday 5 in the morning.
“Administration actually enabled home delivery of all these important items through vendors for the time wisely so that people remain indoors during the locking period to bring the Covid situation in a controlled district.
Circle officers will ensure home delivery services in the area below respective jurisdictions.
Register updated all vendors dealing with food, fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs and milk and other dairy products have been uploaded.
The collaboration of all citizens of Sonitpur in this case is truly requested, “said Das.
Previously authorities were allowed to run stores that sell food, fruits, vegetables, milk, milk and animals between 5am and 5pm from Wednesday in seven districts of Total Golepara Detention, Lakhimpur, Golaghat, Johat, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Morigaon.
In the past 10 days, the Golaghat district has 2,846 positive cases, followed by Sonitpur with 1780 cases.
Jorthat reported 1703 cases during this period.
Metropolitan kumbrup, which includes Guwahati City, has 1,701 cases while 1487 cases are detected in the Lakimpur in that period.
Minister of Health of Keshab Keshab Mahanta said police and administration in three districts – Morigaon, Goalpara and Kamrup – had been directed to strictly implement the Covid-19 protocol and to take tight action against legal violations from Thursday.
