Guwahati: Police Assam killed two suspected “usurers” and injured other people in a meeting in the western destination district Assam on Saturday night, took the death toll in the 23rd shoot since May.
This is a kind of 13th meeting where a total of 23 alleged criminals or militants have died after they are suspected of trying to seize service weapons or try to escape from detention or shoot at the police.
The latest incident occurred near the city of Gawal on Saturday night when five armed robbers fired a shot on the police team and tried to escape, police said.
Acting on specific information, the police group began to pursue a car carrying armed robbers from the lapsai area but Dacoit opened fire on police vehicles and moved to the city of Goalpara, added the police.
“Goalpara police must pursue vehicles in all areas under four police stations while being shot by criminals [in the car].
But the police get better than them,” Director General of State Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, said.
“In a truly film, the armed Dacoit Gang that escaped at Car Swift was chased by FRM Krishnai-dudhnoi-Mornnoi and was arrested at the Goalpara,” Police Purpose Tweeted.
Two of the alleged criminals, identified as Rafajuddin and Basit Ali, died in a shootout while one Rashidul Islam was injured, he said.
“We are looking for four feet.
They all have previous Dako cases against them.
The gun and the car they travel have been confiscated,” said DGP.
The defendant is currently undergoing treatment at the Talpara Civil Hospital, the officer said, added that someone died in place.
Another criminal body was found on Sunday morning at the nearest place.
The other two managed to escape from that place.
Because the government of Himanta Buswa Sarma was led to take over issued on May 10, at least 23 alleged militants and criminals were killed and 35 others were injured at a meeting of police in the state.
This is the fifth incident this month where the alleged criminal has been shot dead.
On August 7, the police opened fire on drug sellers of Khairul Islam in the Nagaon District followed by Dacoit Asa Babu in Darrang District (August 11), Bank Robber Monuwar Hussain, Aminul Hoque and Sheikh Daula in Kokrajhar District (August 22) and Nurul Islam smuggler weapons in the district Karimganj (August 23).
