GUWAHATI: A day after the state authorities resisted the board assessments contemplating the prevailing Covid-19 scenario from the nation, a female student of Class X in Upper Assam’s Lakhimpur district committed suicide Saturday evening supposedly angry with the government’s conclusion.
Dharmakanta Gogoi, a neighbor of the dead person, stated,”The mother of this woman said she had been dissatisfied with the government’s determination to cancel the assessments of Class X and Class XII.
She had been an average student but had been expecting to succeed at the board exam this season.” The dead person was residing with her mum at Korson Majkuri village, situated 7 km east of Lakhimpur city, beneath northern Lakhimpur sadar police station.
The woman’s mother stated,”She had been planning difficult to demonstrate a great result at the Class X examination.
She committed suicide on Saturday night about 6 pm.
Her dad died a couple of years back” Officer-in-charge of this north Lakhimpur sadar police station, Utpal Sarma, stated,”No suicide note was recovered.
Thus, we cannot conclude whether she committed suicide just for the conclusion of examinations.
We’re also probing different angles and the human body was sent for post mortem.” Sarma said that the village has seen roughly 10 to 12 suicide cases within the previous a few decades.
“This is an issue of concern and we’re attempting to discover why folks commit suicide within this village often,” he further added.
Meanwhile, the Dharmakanta Gogoi said four to five girls committed suicide once they couldn’t go back their micro-finance loans.
He some could have committed suicide due to love affairs.
“However, the incident occurred yesterday on account of the conclusion of those examinations.
The state administration’s uncertain remarks on the examinations from the past few months left most pupils under acute psychological pressure.
This episode is a good illustration,” he further added.
