GUWAHATI: The Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress came back heavily onto the BJP-led authorities for the nation’s poor performance from the NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index 2020-21 and also criticized that the saffron program for high maternal and infant mortality rates although claiming to have awakened the health care infrastructure.
“It was announced that Assam could grow into one of those first countries, or even the very first in the nation, to work towards attaining sustainable development targets by 2030.
However, the NITI Aayog’s report on SDG functionality has highlighted the false claims, especially within the area of protecting, teaching and enhancing the health of women and women,” country Mahila Congress president Nandita Das explained.
Citing the current rape episode in Jorha, the Congress’ women’s wing slammed against the authorities for neglecting to test crimes against girls.

Das explained,”Assam’s maternal mortality rate is 215 per one lakh in contrast to 43 at Kerala.

Congress spokesperson Bobbeeta Sharma mentioned the offense against girls in Assam was climbing day by day, ” the BJP-led government continued to function as”intolerant” contrary to the offense, requesting the authorities to send powerful message against the surface of the governement.
