Bengaluru: Luggage check-in Bengaluru Techie was cut open in allegated theft efforts during a flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru last month.
He filed a complaint with the airport and authority of Kolkata airport and investigation.
Chandan Prakash, 35, an employee of the American multinational retail chain in Bengaluru, flew to Kolkata on August 20 to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with his sister.
He returned by Indigo Flight 6E 875 on August 22 and went to his HSR layout residence from Kia.
“I land on Sunday, collect my trolley bag and go home.
When I opened it the next morning, I saw an unusual tear in the bag.
Someone has cut the cloth from the inside to content access after opening the outer compartment,” Prakash said.
He sent an email to the complaint to the airline about the possibility of posting posts.
He also shared his experience on social media with photographs and videos of his black bag.
Indigo Airlines replied that they could not start actions such as compensation because he did not submit complaints in the luggage sender area on arrival.
Prakash said: “The reply is ridiculous because there is no damage seen in my bag.
Someone has opened the top bag and cuts the inside cloth to access things inside.
I don’t lose something valuable and I don’t need compensation but this must be presented And the culprit was taken to the book.
“Some airlines have stopped sealing the outer compartment of the check-in bag with a plastic wire key.
Offering theft may occur at Kolkata airport: Airlines representatives investigate this problem and said theft efforts might occur at Kolkata Airport.
Airport officials confirmed the investigation was taking place because several other passengers had complained about similar problems.
After the Prakash complaint gets traction on social media, Indigo approaches it.
“It sent me a new trolley bag and urged me to lower my social media post but I refused.
I said I didn’t need to compensate but closure.
I am happy to investigate,” he added.
Indigo Airlines told Ti Prakash has been properly compensated and the incident was examined.
