BBMP plans to start 57 primary health centers

Bengaluru: First, the BBMP has decided to rent a building to run a urban primary health center (PHC) from the following month in 57 wards that do not have this facility at this time.
From 198 wards within the boundary of the BBMP, 141 has a phcs that functions from their own buildings.
Of these, some PHCs are at the end of their environment, and some are between two wards.
Only 125 wards have PHC in the heart of Ward with easy access to citizens.
PHCS has become an important arm of the management of Covid-19 BBMP as a testing and vaccination strategy built around them.
Recently, RS 10 Crore was approved to increase the number of PHC in the city.
Since the construction of PHC in environmental costs around Rs 2 Crore, BBMP has decided to rent a building for now.
Periphery City requires more PHC.
Randeep Dev, Special Commissioner, Health, BBMP, said, “We are looking for a place to set up a PHC.
It’s hard to find space in the city interior.
The size of each PHC depends on the available space (because there is no standard measurement for the same thing) .
From the existing funds, we can see more than 50 buildings in the next 6-8 months.
In priority, we will start 20-25 PCH next month.
“Monthly rentals are repaired at Rs 30,000 for each new PHC.
Considering some PHCs already serve the needs of two wards and equipped with sufficient staff, personnel will be re-employed after the new PHC appears.
“Existing funds will also be used for minimum improvements and existing PHC improvements,” Randeep added.
