BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike spent almost Rs11.6 lakh to feed stray dogs from town throughout the next lockdown.
In accordance with BBMP, you’ll find 3.1 lakh stray dogs at Bengaluru that were fed by BBMP officials and also approximately 300 animal feeders.
As stated by Dr Manjunath Shinde, combined manager (animal husbandry), BBMP, several pet feeders and animal rights activists are feeding indefinitely.
Shinde said for each 100kg of rice5kg of poultry was cooked and added, either by BBMP or monster claws that did it by themselves.
A puppy has been fed 250gms of meals daily that prices the civic body roughly Rs 5.60.
The BBMP stated it had completed a survey utilizing a cell program in 2019 which helped it compute the amount of stray dogs from town and fed with them.
But several animal rights activists and citizens said that they had been amazed that BBMP spent much cash to feed stray puppies, but that was not clear on the floor.
Animal rights activist Harish K said that he never watched any BBMP any volunteer attached to BBMP feeding puppies.
Just citizens and very good Samaritans were doing this, he further added.
BBMP said cash for animal feeders was authorized but yet to discharge the cash .
The BBMP introduced Rs 3.4 lakh to feed cattle in Bengaluru.
They’re being fed in goshalas at Kanakapura Road, NICE Road, JP Nagar, Thalaghattapura along with Konanakunte.
With this, 56 tonnes of fodder were purchased at Rs 6,000 a tonne.
It is estimated that there are approximately 800 stray cows from town.
