Bengaluru: Heist Friday night at the BTM layout branch from SBI unraveled in a film style with the incident holding a knife against the neck of the employee to make his manager open a strong room, police said.
The suspect escaped with Rs 3.8 lakh and gold more than Rs 78 lakh.
Madiwala police have taken robbery cases based on complaints submitted by Harish N, branch coverage managers, and make efforts to track crime.
They said no security personnel in the branch and crime was carried out by someone who knew the gap.
According to the police, the incident took place at 5:40 a.m., when Tejaswini was subordinate and his subordinates would close the bank’s main door.
Harish told the branch manager police on leave since Thursday because of health problems and he was a responsible manager.
He along with officers Tejaswini and Chandramma Sestender returned to work on Friday, and Chandramma left the branch during the day.
“I and Tejaswini worked up to 540 a night and reached the main door to lock it.
A palace – aged between 30 and 35 and wearing facemask – approached us and took out a knife.
He held it against Tejaswini’s neck and demanded that I open a strong room.
Worried to our lives , Tejaswini and I took him to a strong room and gave him Rs 3.75,200 and 1,860 grams of gold stored in 17 packages.
