Bengaluru: 30-year-old domestic assistance was arrested for allegedly extorting his former 55-year-old employer and extorted more than Rs 1.2 lakh from him.
The police identified the defendant as Sonia and his former employer as Keshav (name changed), both Ramamurthynagar residents, East Bengaluru.
According to the police, Sonia worked at Keshav’s residence for six years and left work last year during the first Covid-19 locking.

I was undergoing treatment and had used a sleep tablet since 2016.
He might take my photos when I was sleeping.
He threatened to upload it on social media and demand money if I don’t He wanted him to do it, “Alleged Keshav in his complaint.
Police said Sonia had taken photos while Keshav was in bed and also some of his half naked body.
Initially, Keshav gave him Rs 1.2 lakh.
He then demanded Rs 15 Lakh to remove the photos.
“He asked me to give Rs 5 lakh immediately and Rs 10 Lakh after 20 days.
I have no money and cannot bear mental torment,” Keshav told the police.
The police registered a case against Sonia under the IPC 384 (extortion) and 420 (cheating) on Sundays based on complaints by Keshav.
He was arrested on November 16.
“He claimed to have taken photos of Keshav when he took a shower and came out of the restroom.
He also took a photo from his room,” said a police officer.
The police confiscated his cellphone and found indecent photos of Keshav.
He was produced in front of the court, which returned it in court custody.
