Bengaluru: Will the Chairman of the Minister of Bumavaraj Bommai assert the development of Bengaloru to one of the seven ministers from the city or will he take a signal from the predecessor of BS Yediyurappa and defend it? This is arguably the most prestigious ministry because it forms the future of the capital.
Seven ministers from the city had risked their claims, with three Biggies – R Ashoka, CN Ashwath Narayan and V Somanna – left no stone missed.
Byrathi Basavaraj, St Somashekar, K Gopalaiiah and MTB Nagaraj also lobby for it.
There is speculation that one of the top three competitors can be considered, because the BBMP poll is close.
People in the party said because Bommai was interested in finance and water resources, he might have to appoint a minister who was dedicated to Bengaluru.
However, he could maintain the development of Bengaluru and did not disappoint anyone because the party needed support from all MLA and the Minister from Bengaluru to maintain power.
“Bommai wants to control Bengaluru because he wants to ensure the implementation of a satisfying Bengaluru mission project,” said a minister.
Many feel that they do not have a dedicated Minister of Bengaluru Development will prove dangerous.
Yediyurappa did not appoint a dedicated minister when he took over in 2019 because there were too many competitors.
This does not match BBMP and other agencies because they face major challenges in planning and implementation.
Some infrastructure projects, including Smart City, Metro Rail, Sub-Urban Rail, Drinking Water and Ring Road took place with a little political supervision, claiming BBMP and BWSSB officials.
“The minister’s chairman is responsible for the entire state, and it is difficult for him to pay adequate attention to Bengaluru.
A Capital Minister will complete one of the biggest problems – lack of coordination and integration between civilian and government institutions.
This will allow brave policies in need Political approval, “said the N Vijaykumar urban expert.
However, some insist on managing Bengaluru will help the city because all decisions regarding budgeting and implementation can be taken quickly because it also holds a financial portfolio.
