Bengaluru: Police shot and injured a suspect of murder and Rowdy – Palani aka Kerchief Palani -After he allegedly attacked them at Ashoknagar’s funeral on Tuesday night.
Facing more than 22 criminal cases, including three murders, Puni was recently booked in the murder case of Munnakumar, 35, which was reported in Bellandur on November 10.
Munnakumar, a resident of Kasa Kauavanahalli, was walking to 8pm when a gang of the four criminals led by Puni stabbed him to death.
The police claimed Munnakumar innocent and did not have criminal antecedents.
Palani objected to Munnakumar walking freely at night and it caused a fight, police said.
Puni, who once sold dates for livelihoods, has attacked the police twice early.
The sleuth of the wing-2 organized crime tracks it near the grave at 11 o’clock at night.
A team led by HS Parmeshwar rushed to the place.
“Puni rejected the arrest, attacking Inspector Harish Kumar with a dagger and hurt him in his left elbow.
ACP fired his left foot.
He had been treated at Bowring Hospital,” said Sandeep Patil, Commissioner with the police (crime), said.
