Bengaluru: The pool in the Hargadde of the taluk anecalion has turned into a black dot, thanks to dumping indiscriminately and burning garbage around it.
“Drain Stormwater from the Jigani industrial area passed this black spot and entered the Hengadde Waterbodies, Hennagara and Chandapura.
So, the sewer not only brought waste from the industrial area, but the water also took waste throughout the course,” said Captain (Right) Santosh Kumar, an environmental lover.
“Even though we understand that cities in the outskirts of big cities have a hard time disposing solid waste, openly burning garbage in housing areas is not acceptable,” Kumar said.
Hargadde Pond is located in Madapatna, Hargadde Gram Panchayat, Anecal Taluk and spread in seven hectares.
Although it was marked as a pond in a government survey, Kumar and his team did not find signs of water in place when they visited him in January.
There are only signs of burning waste in one corner of the soil, which turns into a black dot.
Expert Lake Nagesh Aras said: “Waste and solid waste often come from cities in the outskirts of the city.
In particular, in the case of Madapatna (where waste is made in the open), water will have ash and other particles, which is not good for Land water ecosystem.
On the other hand, if the waste is not burned, water will bring leachate, which is worse , and Hargadde GP is one of them.
“In March last year, the GP Hargadde was handed over to one hectare and five thieves of land to remove solid waste scientifically, and this was the only land that must be used for this purpose.
The burning of waste in the open is not an acceptable approach to disposal Waste, “added Manjunath.
Even if the water does not have water in it and has lost its characteristics, it should not be used to throw or burn waste, said Manjunath.
‘Will educate the Gram Panchayat’ “We will educate the GP in question and ensure no poison / waste or waste into the water,” he added.
